On Friday 27th September, we took part in the Year 9 German trip to the Goethe Institut in London. After a long coach journey, we escaped from the rain and began to explore the careers fair, with lots of different stalls from businesses and charities (and exciting freebies!). The library was also very interesting, with cross-language stalls from the Hellenic Centre and the Spanish Embassy and activities like an interpreting booth like they have in the EU and UN! In the afternoon, we took part in talks from linguists from across Europe, learning about studying German at Cambridge (which has inspired many of us!) and studying other subjects at German universities. We also heard from industry professionals in the fields of finance, policy, marketing and accounting, showing the range of careers that German can lead to. 

We learned a lot and got good advice about careers and our future. Overall, ein wunderschöner Tag!
