Inspirational work experience for student Aleeza Yahya

Inspirational work experience with local business Agosti Gelato

As our year 10’s and year 12’s start to think about ideas for work experience later in the year, it is inspirational to hear how local business entrepreneur, Heather Bateson, from Agosti Gelato provided fantastic support and learning to student Aleeza Yahya about the world of gelato making!   In Aleeza's words:-

“Through working with Heather at Agosti Gelato, I was lucky enough to experience the world of gelato making, gaining hands-on knowledge of the entire production process, from ingredient mixing to quality control and packaging. We prepared pots of gelato for Tom Kerridge's catering for the F1 Williams’ Team’s guests and family. Closer to home, Marlow's very own ‘Butcher’s Tap & Grill’ is selling Agosti Gelato pots made using their own sticky toffee pudding and sauce - which I can say first hand is delicious!".

In addition to providing this valuable work experience, we were lucky enough to have Heather give a talk to year 7 & 8 last year as part of our Mini Masterclass Event. Heather also has a career in law and gave valuable insight into this too.
